#thenewscompany – Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan today said Pakistan has still been conspiring against Bangladesh as it could not forget its defeat in the War of Liberation in 1971.
“Pakistan has exposed its heinous character by taking side of those convicted war criminals, who were the agents of Pakistan. The BNP-Jamaat combine has been implementing the Pakistani agenda,” he said. The minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion in the city. Dhaka Journalists’ Association (DJA) organised the discussion at the Hall Room of the National Press Club at Topkhana Road marking its first founding anniversary and a reception accorded to newly elected president of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) Shaban Mahmud.
DJA president Shahrun Islam Pinu chaired the function, also addressed, among others, by Advocate Sanjida Khanam, MP, secretary general of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Omar Faruque and president of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) Shaban Mahmud.
The minister said, “The BNP-Jamaat combine has not accepted as yet the existence of Bangladesh. So, they along with Pakistan have been hatching conspiracies one after another against the country. They have been trying frantically to save the war criminals. People of the country should remain vigilant against their conspiracies.”
About the journalists, Shajahan Khan said, “I am not giving any lesson or advice to our newsmen. But, no news should be presented before fully confirming the authenticity of the news item. Even if the rejoinders are printed after publication of any news item against any individual, the fact remains publication of any false news simply tarnishes his or her image in the society.”
