e-NewsDesk-DHAKA, Dec 15, 2014 : The body of missing master of the tanker which was capsized in the Shela River of Sundarbans, has been found after 121 hours (5-Day) of the capsize.
Mokhlesur Rahman, master of oil tanker ‘Southern Star 7’, was missing since the tanker had capsized in the river on Tuesday morning. Chandpai Range officer Belayet Hossain said locals noticed the floating body of Mokhlesur Rahman around 6am on Sunday at the place where the tanker was capsized.
He said one Al-Amin spotted the body first and then Mokhlesur’s younger brother Khorshed Alam identified it. Khorshed said he recovered the body with the help of the local people. He said police made the first information report on the spot. “The body will be taken to Bagerhat sadar hospital morgue for autopsy. After the autopsy, the body will be taken to our village home at Barisal for burial,” he added. The sunken oil tanker was rescued on Thursday, 55 hours after it capsized with more than 350,000 liters of furnace oil.
