One of the most annoying situations you can be faced with is when the battery on your mobile device of choice fades away at a crucial time. Examples include your mobile phone dying just as you were coming to the crux of your argument that you were having with your other half, your camera flashing an empty battery light at you after you’ve driven for 3 hours to see some ancient ruins, your iPod dying half way through that long-haul flight, or even your PSP giving up as you probably should when you get to the fourth Marine level of Alien Vs. Predator.
Well thanks to a new product out on the market, these woes will deplete faster than your battery. The UVEE Universal Solar Battery Charger is a new and clean-energy way to charge your mobile devices. Using direct sunlight, this gadget’s solar panels recharge its Li-ion battery which in turn can be plugged in to your device to resurrect it once again.
Being based in the UK, there is of course, a back-up method of charging the UVEE to save waiting for the sun to peep out from behind the clouds (let’s face it- we’ve been waiting all Summer). You can use the supplied AC adapter or car charger so that no matter where you are, you can still have what is essentially a back-up battery on hand.
The UVEE does take from 4-7 hours to fully charge which is quite a long time if you’re in any sort of rush. Another potential down-side to the device is that there are only some kinds of mobile phones that UVEE can currently be used on which include:
– LG-KG800 Chocolate series
– Motorola V66 and V3 current series
– Most current Nokia and current N series
– Samsung A288 and D800 series
– Sony Ericsson T28 and K750 current series
