e-News® | The NEWS Company… : DHAKA, July 30, 2014 -Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed deep shock at the death of Alhaj Dr Md Mosharraf Hossain, an Independence Award recipient and a close associate of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
In a condolence message, the Prime Minister recalled the outstanding contribution of Dr Mosharraf to the country’s great War of Liberation as well as in the field of politics.
She said, a valiant Freedom Fighter and dedicated politician, Dr Mosharraf, worked for the welfare of the country and people in his entire life.
“The nation will ever-remember the contribution of Dr Mosharraf to freeing the city’s Mirpur area from the Pakistan occupation forces and their cohorts,” she said, adding the country has lost a brave son in his death.
The Prime Minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed her profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
Dr Mosharraf died of a heart attack at Apollo Hospitals here this afternoon. He was 79. Husband of Ashrafunnesa Mosharraf, president of Bangladesh Mohila Awami League, Dr Mosharraf was elected MCA and MP from Mirpur-Mohammadpur area in the capital.
He won the Independence Award in 2013 for his outstanding contribution to the War of Liberation.
