Nearly a third of those polled said they upgrade their gadgets because they want the newest products, while one in 10 said they do so simply because of “boredom”.
However, more than half of those who responded admitted they have at least one electrical item at home that they never use.
The British Heart Foundation is appealing for people to donate their unused, but working, gadgets to resell in their furniture and electrical stores to raise money for the charity.

“We’re appealing for new life to be given to any unwanted electricals by donating them to us in July. Stock really is the lifeblood of our stores.”
Unwanted small electrical items can be dropped off at British Heart Foundation, Currys and PC World stores throughout July, with those donating goods being given money-off vouchers for new products.
