e-News® | The NEWS Company…DHAKA, July 02, 2015 : Cellular phone operator Grameenphone has teamed up with Payza, an e-wallet payment gateway, to offer an instant online payment solution for its customers. The operator and Payza today made the announcement of their agreement after a signing ceremony at the Grameenphone corporate office in city’s Bashundhara, said a press release yesterday.
Through this agreement, more than 52 million of Grameenphone prepaid and postpaid users will be able to purchase different Value Added Services, complete online recharges or pay bills from its the GP website using their Payza e-Wallet. Dilip Pal, Chief Financial Officer of Grameenphone, said, “Online transaction in Bangladesh is becoming an essential need and thus by allowing our customers to purchase online, we are opening a new channel for our customers to make it easy for them.”
Payza Bangladesh kicked off its operations in 2006 and currently serves 11 million users globally throughout 192 countries. “Introducing the Payza e-wallet payment option for all GP users is the beginning of an era for online payments in Bangladesh,” said Nadim Rahman, CEO of Payza Bangladesh. Primarily focusing on e-commerce, Payza has captured the first-mover positioning as Bangladesh’s first e-wallet payment gateway. Users can sign up for a Payza e-wallet free of charge and the processing is done in seconds.
A Payza account offers direct online bank account transfer from any bank in Bangladesh and Over-the-Counter transactions at over 40 different branches. Soon GP customers will be able to avail this service through Grameenphone website.
